Memphis Area Mountain Dulcimer Club Meeting
When: Sunday afternoon, February 4, 2007 3 – 5pm
Where: Carla’s house
Those who attended The January Gathering with Lee and Larry had a great
time of learning and playing. Thanks, Lee and Carla!
At our upcoming February meeting we will continue to use some of the
chords we have already learned. Be prepared to play the three
major chords for the keys of A and C. You will find them on your
“Bile Dem Cabbage” tab in four keys. We will play “Bile Dem
Cabbage in A and C and also play “Going to Lynchburg Town” in those
same keys. If you would rather not play the chords for a song
feel free to play the melody using your club tab.
I would also like to try Sally Papich’s “Sixteen Tons”. If you
have time try to practice this one; I found an easier way (for me, at
least) to finger that picked part at the end: rather than picking that
first and second “8” on the bass string try playing the “4” on the
middle string.
We’ll also play the three-part round I brought to our last meeting:
“Dona Nobis Pacem”. No, you don’t have to play this one in Latin.
We will have another “request time” so we can play your favorites.
Hope to see you at our next meeting; it should be a fun time.
Bob
