December 2007, Meeting at CARLA’S HOUSE

[originally posted in November 2007 on www.Memphis-Dulcimer.com, copied and reposted here on 4/11/2009]

Fellow Dulcimer Players:
The next meeting (and the last one for this year) will be on Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2007 from 3 – 5pm. It will be held at CARLA’S HOUSE.
For those of you who are new and met at my house for the last two meetings and need directions to Carla’s email me at:
magowandulcimers at comcast.net

This will be our annual Christmas meeting, and we will play the following Christmas songs:
Oh Christmas Tree
Jingle Bells
In The Bleak Midwinter
Carol of the Drum
We Wish You a Merry Christmas
If you have tablature for the above songs please bring it to the meeting, even if the tab is not exactly the same as the tab we play. As long as the tab is in the same key it will work. If you do not have the tablature, email me at the address above (sorry about the mixup last month), and I will have it ready for you at the meeting.
In addition, we will sing and play chords to a number of Christmas carols. I will provide handouts for these as I did last year. You might want to review the chords for the keys of D and G as the majority of the songs are in these two keys.
And, of course, we will also have a time of fellowship and some good things to eat. All in all, we should have a grand time at the last meeting of the year.
Hope to see you there.
Bob
P.S.
We invite your spouses to attend with you. We will be happy to include them in the meeting to listen to us play, enjoy the holiday goodies and sing with us if they so desire.
